FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What power source do I need to run a Green Blob light?
  • We offer flexible power options depending on your specific setup.
  • You can choose from a standard 3-prong plug, a cigarette lighter adapter, alligator clips, or a combination of these.
  • Important Safety Note: Never plug a product into a receptacle other than what it is rated for, and ensure power supplies are well-ventilated and kept out of the water.
2. What kind of battery do you recommend for 12V models?
  • For maximum longevity, a standard deep cycle marine battery is your best bet.
  • It will run our 15,000 Lumen Blob for up to 18 hours, and our 7,500 Lumen Blob for 24-26 hours on a single charge.
  • If you need something more portable, a 23 lb. battery will run the 15,000 Lumen model for 7-8 hours, while a lighter 13 lb. battery will run it for about 4-4.5 hours.
3. Are these lights safe for both saltwater and freshwater?
  • Absolutely. The LEDs are encased in an IP68-rated clear polymer housing, meaning they are 100% waterproof and rated to be fully submerged in saltwater 100% of the time.
  • Note: It is perfectly normal for some condensation to appear between the clear polymer and the LEDs—this does not affect the waterproofing!
4. Do I need to add weights to sink the light?
  • No extra hardware is required. Your Blob is entirely self-weighted, so you can just plug it in, drop it in, and reel it in.
5. How do I care for and maintain my light?
  • To prevent slime, barnacles, and marine life from adhering to your light, we highly recommend wiping the clear housing down with a coating of Vaseline, silicone, or silicone wax every 4-6 weeks.
  • Please do not attempt to remove the clear cover housing, as it is there to protect the LEDs from physical damage and aquatic life.
6. Where is the best place to position my Blob?
  • The light is designed to be suspended off the bottom, not resting directly in the mud or sand.
  • From a boat: Anchor over structures like brush, rock piles, timber, stumps, grass beds, or ledges.
  • From a dock: We recommend sinking brush piles or PVC trees around the edges of your dock to hold fish year-round.
  • For saltwater docks, always remember to adjust your depth for high and low tides!
7. How long do the LED bulbs last?
  • Our LEDs are rated for an incredible 50,000 hours of continuous use.
  • Each light also comes with 30 feet of heavy-duty, UV-rated, and insulated 16-gauge cable built to withstand the outdoors.
8. What is your warranty policy?
  • We give you the "Texan Guarantee."
  • Every light comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, followed by an extended 5-month repair or replacement warranty (6 months total).
  • This covers any manufacturing defects, provided you notify us within 30 days of detecting the issue and provide proof of purchase.
  • (Exclusions apply for physical altering, animal damage, or improper installation/voltage).
  • Read the full Warranty Policy here.
9. Where are Green Blob lights made?
  • They are proudly handmade right here in the USA—specifically in the Lone Star State—by our founder Mark Collier and a family of avid fishermen.
